"With her work, Sofía seeks to transport the audience to a timeless place where anything can happen and create a harmonic connection between breath, music, movement, and space."

The Movement | Sofía Forero is a New York-based, Colombian-born choreographer whose work functions as a physical inquiry into the human condition. Her movement language is a sophisticated synthesis of contemporary, modern, and balletic foundations, deeply textured by the rhythms of her Latin American heritage. Grounded in both technical rigor and emotional honesty, Sofía’s choreography explores the friction between cultural identity and universal connection.

The Portfolio | Her work has performed at premier stages across the globe, from the high-energy atmosphere of Sony Music Hall (Times Square) and Dixon Place to international venues like Théâtre Antoine Watteau in France. A sought-after collaborator, Sofía has received prestigious commissions from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), American Swiss Ballet Company, Arts On Site, and Works On Water, among others.

MOSAÏQUE Dance Theater | As the co-founder and co-director of MOSAÏQUE Dance Theater—an interdisciplinary powerhouse launched alongside French choreographer Nicolas Fiery—Sofía bridges the gap between dance, music, and visual art. The company’s inaugural production, Mosaïque, premiered in Paris in 2024 and is currently touring internationally.

The Vision | For Sofía, dance is more than performance; it is a space for listening and questioning. Whether through research-based choreography or cross-cultural exchange, she continues to investigate what it means to remain connected in an ever-changing world.
